Property taxes are collected during the current year for the prior year.  For example; 2004 taxes were due and payable in 2005.

Due dates for tax payment:  Full payment is due April 30th (U.S. Postal Service Postmark is accepted) OR half payments are due February 28th for first half and June 15th for second half with no penalty.  Per state statute, any tax amount less than $25.00 is due in one payment by April 30th.

As soon as practical after January 1st each year, the county treasurer is to mail tax notices.  However, per state statute, failure of any person to receive such statement shall not preclude collection by the treasurer of the amount of taxes due and payable.

Delinquent tax notices are sent in July with the tax lien sale being held in October or November.  Further information can be obtained from the Tax Lien link on the county website.
